What better way to bring in the Christmas season and all it brings with it than with gooey, warm, spiced brownies? This recipe, originally from our partner Forays into Food, provides a bit of a twist on traditional brownies, using one of our favourite Cacao blends!
2 c sugar
1 c sunflower oil
1 3/4 c flour
1/2 c cacao
1/4 c orange juice
zest of 1 orange
1/4 c milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 tsp Aloha Chilli Spiced Cacao
(Optional: 1 orange, sliced)
1) Beat eggs and sugar together then mix in oil. Add flour and cacao and stir well.
2) Gradually add other ingredients, mixing well after each addition. Pour into a brownie tin or cast-iron pan and bake at 350°F/177°C for 30-35 minutes. For extra gooey ones, pull them out a couple of minutes early!
3) (For optional, extra special brownies, lay slices from 1 orange on top of the batter before baking.)
Enjoy warm with a glass of milk.
